35 percent of logistics costs that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are activities related to storage - inventory and distribution, announced today the Logistics Innovation Center (Cite Logistics) - GS1 Peru.
Cite Director Logistics - GS1 Peru, Mary Wong, said that if these costs are minimized through the implementation of logistics innovation projects, then SMEs are more likely to increase profitability.
"For example, if you run projects related to inventories, the savings can vary between 20 and 30 percent, although this depends on the company," he told Andina news agency.
explained that GS1 has been working for four years as a logistics Cite accredited by the Ministry of Production , which channels the company projects funding to various funds.
"We currently have 3.000 associated companies of which over 70 per cent are SMEs. In this regard, since 2007 we have executed over 20 projects in Peru, "he said.
Wong said that by 2011 the expectation of the company's three projects to submit monthly financial funds.
"We also plan to run two long-term projects that require funding of $ 100 000 each, and ten short-term projects for up to $ 40.000 each, "he said.
